Where are we?

Cook County News-Herald staffers love to get out and about the county. So we decided, while we are traveling the highway and bushwhacking through the forest, to take pictures to see if our readers can guess WHERE ARE WE?

We had three guesses this month, and all of them were correct. So what did we do to pick a winner? We threw them all up in the air and the one plucked from empty space before it hit the ground was our pick. Very scientific, of course.

So where was the picture taken? Stephanie Best of Grand Marais knew, and she guessed the photo was taken looking at the northwest corner of the Lake Superior Trading Post. Harvey Sobieck of Grand Marais and Ada Hill, also of Grand Marais, all made the same correct guess.

But because Best’s entry was a little more aerodynamic than either Hill's or Sobieck's, her entry wins a subscription to the Cook County News-Herald. Congratulations Stephanie!

Try your luck! Take a look at the October photo. If you think you know where this photo was taken, send us your answer.

You don’t have to be the first to reply. The location will be announced next month and a winner will be drawn from all the correct answers. Whoever is drawn from the correct entries receives a free one-year subscription to the Cook County News-Herald (a $32 value). Good luck!

Answer to the October WHERE ARE WE? must be received by November 14.
